Hi everyone! This is Jenna writing to you, I guess you could say I’m the baker/cook in the family. I’ve always loved to bake and I learned to cook for myself because I am a vegetarian, although my family likes my veggie dishes! But during quarantine, I discovered even more of a love for baking and I have made some really yummy treats! As for Foodie Friday goes, it’ll be a mix of vegetarian dishes and desserts. To start off the first Foodie Friday, I thought it would only be right to talk about our homemade pizza Friday’s! Probably since I was in high school (10ish years ago) we started making our own pizza. Pizza Friday has been a household staple for us for so long and all of our friends love to come over to have a few slices. We use a dough machine to make the crust. I don’t know about you but I LOVE a good thin crust pizza! But my favorite thing that we do that is not as common for a plain pie is that we use vodka sauce for our pies instead of red sauce because I am not a fan (whoops). Sometimes I don’t feel like making pizza from scratch when I can go buy a pie, but it truly hits different when its homemade. Plus, if you’re someone who loves toppings, you can get creative with toppings by making it yourself. We normally just do a plain vodka sauce pie or a margarita pie but, occasionally I like to spice it up and do pineapple, jalapeno and lots of black pepper on top. I know pineapple on pizza is a controversial topic but if you like a little spice, try my combo because the balance of sweet and spicy is just too good! Let me know if you try my combo or if you make homemade pizza! Hope you enjoyed reading the first of many Foodie Friday’s! 😊

Pizza Dough Recipe:
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 1/4 cup bread flour
2 tsp bread machine yeast
Instructions:
Add all ingredients in order into the bread machine pan and put on setting 11 (dough)
Once the dough is done in the machine, take it out and remove it into a floured bowl and cover it lightly with a cloth to let rise for a bit. Roll the dough out thin but be sure to flour the table and dough a lot so it doesn’t stick. Once it is rolled out, pick it up and put it on the pan. Add your sauce, cheese, toppings. We use a pizza stone on the grill but cooking in the oven is just fine!
YUM!

Yum! Let me know if any of you create your own homemade pizzas and what your favorite toppings are! Enjoy!
